This Privacy Policy describes how Jeff Skarin ("I", "me", or "my") handles information when you visit jeffskarin.com and the projects hosted on it (together, the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information I collect
Information you provide. The main Site is a portfolio and does not ask you to create an account or submit personal information. Some projects hosted on the Site (for example, the meal planner and the French flash cards) let you sign in or enter content such as recipes, notes, or study progress. That content is stored so the project can work for you.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site's hosting provider may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. I use this information only to operate, secure, and improve the Site.

- Vercel — website hosting and delivery
- Google Fonts — typefaces loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when fonts are requested
- Google Firebase — authentication and data storage for projects that require sign-in
- AI and content providers (such as Anthropic, Google Gemini, and Pixabay) — some projects send the text you enter, or a search term, to these services to generate a response or retrieve content
Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into projects that use AI features.
Data retention
I keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law. Content you save in a project remains until you delete it or ask me to delete it.
Data security
I take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact me using the details below and I will respond within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to me, please contact me and I will delete it.
